Be a Curious Observer in Your Own Healing

Wake up the curious observer in you by being a participant in your physical and emotional healing. When you are curious, you take judgment out of any process. This keeps you from attaching to outcomes and allows you some psychological space to see things differently. You are making space for things to evolve in new ways, not stay fixed in old patterns.
Because we can be our own worst judge and jury, taking a curious approach makes us objective and compassionate. It’s like stepping back to view something from a wider perspective. We can calmly notice an unfolding of our healing process while still being active and engaged. Curiosity also keeps our mind in the here and now. We become more intuitively focused on any messages that our body sends.

Think of those times when you were a child, playing on the lawn. There was a natural curiosity about your surroundings back then. You had a strong connection to the texture of the grass and the ruddiness of the earth. The scents of greenery were ever-present. The mud felt cool against your skin. Even the sky above was animated and alive as you rolled on the ground. These feel-good moments were brought to you by
your own ability to see things as if for the first time.

A way for you to experience yourself for the first time again is to return to the unfolding that is constant in your body. The body is the house of your Soul. It communicates through your physical being. You felt that energy as a child and you can have that again. One of the best ways to do this curiously is to be aware of the feeling tones in your body. Feeling tones are not emotions. They are the energy that is present in your being at any time of the day. You become detached from these tones, while you move about the world as an adult. Stressors are felt and so you eat or drink them away. Old and new disappointments burn and ache, so you stay busy. You associate your body with constant discomfort and disconnect from it, yanking you further away from childhood.

Being curious about your feeling tones brings you back to that present awareness experience. However, now you are returning with a wealth of knowledge. That curiosity can be applied. You can glean insights about your life journey and growth. You can tend to any needs you have because you are listening to them – through curiosity.

The three feeling tones you experience in your body are:

Pleasant
Unpleasant
Neutral

Even as you read this, does this make sense to you? You do not have to identify the place, emotions, patterns, thoughts, or meanings behind these energies. You just notice them. You are only being curious. As you do, you are present and without judgment.
